Visa announced on October 15, 2026 that Visa Direct stablecoin capabilities are advancing from pilot programmes into commercial deployment. Inyo Global, a Visa Direct processor, is the first enabler bringing Visa Direct’s stablecoin-enabled prefunding into production for eligible Visa Direct clients and partners.

Businesses on Inyo’s platform can prefund cross-border Visa Direct payouts with USDC in near real time, rather than relying solely on traditional funding windows. Through a single connection, Inyo says customers can onboard users, manage fraud and compliance, accept payments, and send domestic and international payouts across more than 180 countries, powered by Visa Direct.

From 2025 pilots to commercial operations

In 2025, Visa introduced stablecoin prefunding and payout pilot programmes through Visa Direct. Those pilots explored cross-border funding, liquidity management and global money movement for eligible clients. Visa now says those capabilities are moving into real-world commercial operations, with Inyo as the first production enabler.

“The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption,” said Vira Platonova, Global Head of Visa Direct. “We’re now seeing those efforts translate into live implementations, helping businesses access more flexible and efficient ways to fund and move money globally through Visa Direct, starting with Inyo Global as our first enabler.”

Robson Dantas, chief product and technology officer and co-founder at Inyo Global, said integrating Visa Direct’s stablecoin-enabled prefunding gives money transmitters, fintechs and payment companies on Inyo “a new way to fund their payouts, one that is available around the clock and runs through the same Inyo APIs they already use.”

Availability limits

Visa’s release footnotes state that availability varies by eligibility and geography, and that the offering is subject to applicable eligibility and availability requirements. The announcement does not state that all Visa Direct clients have access, nor does it claim unrestricted global availability.

The commercial shift matters for firms that fund cross-border payouts against banking cut-offs: stablecoin prefunding, where eligible, can compress the gap between when liquidity is needed and when traditional windows open. Scale and rollout pace will still depend on Visa eligibility rules and Inyo’s customer base.
