Solana Foundation Publishes Audited DvP Program

The open-source escrow program is documented on mainnet, but the foundation is still seeking early participants ahead of a production release.

The Solana Foundation announced an open-source delivery-versus-payment program on October 6, 2026. Released under the MIT licence and audited by Cantina, the program places the two legs of a trade in separate escrow accounts and lets a named settlement authority release both in one Solana transaction.

The program is public on mainnet and devnet

Solana's technical documentation identifies the same program address on mainnet-beta and devnet, with deployment information checked on October 2. The documentation also provides a devnet demonstration that creates a trade, funds both escrow accounts and settles both legs atomically.

That is stronger evidence than a slide-deck concept, but it is not evidence of a completed institutional production trade. The foundation's announcement says the code has undergone external security audits and is ready for use with real funds, while also inviting design partners and early participants ahead of a production release. No bank, asset manager or custodian is named as having completed a production settlement through the program.

Atomic settlement with explicit limits

Each trade records two parties, two token mints, the agreed amounts, a deadline and a settlement authority. Both parties fund their own escrow accounts. When the authority settles, both transfers occur in the same transaction or neither does. A party can reclaim its own leg before settlement, and cancel or reject paths return escrowed assets to their owners.

The program supports standard SPL tokens and Token-2022, but not every token configuration. Solana's documentation lists several extensions that are rejected, including transfer-fee and non-transferable tokens. It also states that the program provides no matching engine, price discovery, order book, netting or partial fills. Both legs must be token accounts on Solana; an off-ledger cash leg is outside the atomic transaction.

J.P. Morgan supplied input, not approval

J.P. Morgan provided feedback on institutional settlement practices. The foundation's disclaimer says that role did not include designing, developing, operating, approving, certifying, warranting or endorsing the program. The bank should therefore not be described as an operator or production participant.

The development is a reusable, audited settlement component with public documentation and a mainnet address. Its institutional significance will depend on named production users, operational controls around the upgradeable program and evidence of completed trades after the foundation's production-release process.
