Finloop and QFPay Report HKDAP Payment With Existing HKD Settlement
The partners report a completed transaction while leaving merchant access, payment volumes and wider rollout unspecified.

Finloop Finance and QFPay HK have completed a payment using HKDAP, according to Finloop's October 16, 2026 announcement. The collaboration with issuer Anchorpoint Financial connects stablecoin payment acceptance with merchants' existing Hong Kong dollar settlement workflow.
The company release describes a completed transaction but does not give its exact date, value or merchant identity. It also does not establish that every merchant can now access the service.
Payment acceptance and merchant settlement are different steps
Finloop says the partners developed a solution that accepts HKDAP and other compliant digital assets while preserving existing HKD settlement. It identifies Finloop Finance as an authorised HKDAP distributor through Beta Access, providing conversion and related services.
The commercial point is the separation between what a customer pays with and what the merchant's existing process handles. A stablecoin payment need not require the merchant to rebuild its whole settlement operation. That is an interpretation of the stated workflow, not evidence that conversion is free, instantaneous or available without onboarding.
The release does not specify settlement timing or fees. It therefore cannot support a cost-saving percentage or a promise of uninterrupted access.
The issuer licence belongs to Anchorpoint
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority's register lists Anchorpoint Financial Limited, licence FRS01, effective April 10, 2026. This independently confirms the named issuer's licence, rather than relying solely on Finloop's description.
That licence should not be attributed to Finloop or QFPay. Nor does the register independently verify this particular transaction, the distributor arrangement or the product's operational performance; those details remain attributed to the company announcement.
Finloop says the parties will further develop operational processes and assess additional payment applications. Wider merchant adoption, transaction volumes and a public rollout timetable remain undisclosed.
