Cross River Embeds RLUSD on XRPL Into Its Core Banking OS
The U.S. banking infrastructure firm is integrating Ripple’s RLUSD into its Core Operating System with XRPL support, letting fintechs reach the stablecoin through one API alongside ACH, wires and RTP. Services are currently only available in limited states.

Cross River Bank announced on October 15, 2026 that it is partnering with Ripple to integrate RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, into Cross River’s proprietary Core Operating System (COS), with support for transactions on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Fintechs can access RLUSD payments through a single API for real-time settlement and cross-border transactions, the companies said.
Cross River framed the integration as expanding onchain capabilities inside a regulated U.S. banking platform: customers can move between USD and RLUSD, settle cross-border payments and treasury activity 24/7, and access ACH, wires and real-time payments through one banking platform and API. “Customers can now access RLUSD through a single API connection,” the release stated, without requiring customers to deploy their own blockchain infrastructure.
Settlement and market figures (company-attributed)
RLUSD is issued on XRPL, where Cross River and Ripple say transactions settle in 3–5 seconds. The release attributes more than $1.3 trillion in value settled to date on XRPL. It also states that RLUSD has grown to more than $2.5 billion in market capitalization, with more than $1 billion issued on XRPL. Those figures are company claims in the October 15 release and are not independently verified here.
“By integrating RLUSD into Cross River’s existing stablecoin infrastructure, we’re expanding on capabilities already in development,” said Adam Goller, Head of Fintech Banking at Cross River, describing USD–RLUSD movement, 24/7 settlement and traditional rails through a single connection.
Markus Infanger, SVP, RippleX at Ripple, said stablecoins will transform payments “by becoming part of the banking infrastructure businesses already use,” citing Cross River’s embedding of RLUSD and XRPL settlement into its regulated platform.
Geographic limit and distinction from other Ripple deals
The release is explicit: “Services are currently only available in limited states.” That qualifier rules out reading the announcement as nationwide U.S. availability.
This story is distinct from DriveWealth’s October 14, 2026 Ripple partnership on RLUSD settlement starting in Europe. Cross River’s announcement concerns embedding RLUSD into a U.S. bank core OS for fintech API access, not European brokerage settlement.
